As part of a PFI project, Dragages Hong Kong, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, was awarded this design, build and operate project for of a 5-star hotel on the island of Lantau.

With a floor area of 42,000m², the main 13-storey building comprises 658 spacious guest rooms over 11 floors, including 1 presidential suite, 32 suites and 119 executive rooms. It offers world-class meeting and convention facilities, luxury hotel services and superior dining and entertainment with 3 restaurants, retail space and coffee house, executive lounge, crew lounge and bar.

The two-storey annexe houses the banquet and function room, meeting rooms, a 25metre swimming pool, spa and health club. Meeting and banqueting space amounts to over 1,300m², and the Grand Ballroom measures 650m². All windows are triple glazed with unique views of the ocean or the golf course.

Connected to the AsiaWorld-Expo site by a covered walkway, the hotel is located beside the Hong Kong International Airport. The fact that it is inside the airport district imposed certain constraints on the construction method. Bouygues Construction worked in collaboration with the Marriott Hotels’ technical team to develop a project incorporating a roof and prefabricated façade elements in the form of a wing, giving a sculptural effect.
