An island at the end of the world

Bouygues Batiment International continues to flourish in the Caribbean.

On 10 December, the company finalised a contract worth close to $47 million (€40 million) with the National Insurance Board (NIB) of Trinidad and Tobago, a small archipelago occupying an area of  5,130km² off the coast of Venezuela.

This contract covers the design and construction (all trades, including outfitting) of the new corporate headquarters of the NIB, the country’s main Social Security body. The 5-storey building will comprise 2 levels of parking and occupy a ground area of 17,000m². It will also accommodate retail space on the ground floor.

Negotiations were conducted by Bouygues Batiment Trinidad & Tobago with the support of Americaribe’s technical department, whose expertise proved invaluable for the costing of the project. Located on the Savannah, Port of Spain’s emblematic park at the heart of Trinidad’s capital, the new NIB headquarters will be completed in 20 months.

Bouygues Batiment Trinidad & Tobago has been present in the archipelago for 10 years and is currently involved in the construction of the national Oncology Centre
