BYMARO to deliver the Faculty of Health Sciences in Casablanca, Morocco

The start of 2015 has brought a string of commercial successes for BYMARO.

In addition to the civil engineering work on the Safi thermal power plant and the Bouskoura Club House, the company has secured the prestigious Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences contract, in Casablanca, worth 478,5 million dirhams (€43 million).

This project, a first for BYMARO in the university sector, will cover the design and construction of the Faculty of Health Sciences, university residences for 322 students, laboratories, a research centre and a 600-seat conference centre. A footbridge will link the campus to the nearby Cheikh Khalifa hospital, one of Morocco’s leading medical facilities.

The health sector is a major priority for Morocco, with the country committed to an ambitious programme of infrastructure modernisation and professional training for personnel. In particular, the programme provides for an increase in the number of doctors and hospital beds available.

Mohammed VI University of Health sciences, which will host some 2,000 students and boast cutting-edge medical equipment, is an integral component of this global strategy to promote Health. Due to be delivered at the start of 2017 – with an intermediate milestone in late July 2016 for the building of the faculty, in order to begin partial operation of the facility for the academic year in September 2016 -, the campus will represent a key reference for BYMARO as it continues to consolidate its expertise portfolio.
